LIFEPATH STUDENT MINISTRY

MEDICAL RELEASE

OUR HEARTBEAT:

We love because Jesus loved us first. Period. We strive to love our neighbor, simply because Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor. No agenda, just unconditional love, all in the Name of Jesus. Much of our calendar has us serving together in our community, which is consistent with the overall mission of Lifepath Church. Below are a few of the ways* we seek to bless our zip code and beyond:

  • Meals on Wheels (delivering a hot lunch to elderly in the community)
  • MESA Outreach (local food pantry)
  • VBS Sports Camp (every June, through UW Sports Ministry)
  • Community litter collection with our Muslim neighbors
  • Legend Oaks (local nursing home to play Bingo and encourage the residents)
  • Brookwood Community (pool aerobics with the beautiful and joyful Citizens of Brookwood)
  • Living Water International (providing clean water for the thirsty of the world)
  • Voice of the Martyrs (serving persecuted Christians living in hostile nations)
  • Montrose Street Reach (outdoor worship service, held for all walks of life, in Montrose area)

INTO THE COMMUNITY:

Jackie Hudson and the youth group strive to take Jesus into the community through hospital visits, home visits, and attending student events to support and encourage. Students are always encouraged to invite unchurched friends to church and activities, but ultimately the church mission statement is ignited by first seeking connections with others OUTSIDE the church.

REFUGE:

Every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm - please contact Jackie Hudson via email for information: jhudson@lifepathhouston.com

The word “refuge” means “a shelter providing protection from danger” and accurately reflects the spiritual goals for our midweek student gathering. The world is full of chaos and confusion so Refuge is a safe place to be encouraged through friendship, God’s Word, worship, and prayer. A free dinner is served and students arrive early for games and to hang out. God has consistently used this sacred time together to connect students to the group. Although Refuge consists mostly of middle school and high school grades, many parents, college students, and younger siblings also regularly attend.

If interested in helping to prepare a weekly meal please email Jackie Hudson: jhudson@lifepathhouston.com

SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY:

Every Sunday at 9:30am is our weekly Bible study for middle school, high school, and college students/young adults. The Bible is of paramount importance in the life of a believer, so we open the Scriptures regularly to hear and respond to God’s Holy Word.

DESSERT AUCTION:

Each year, held on a Sunday evening before or after the Super Bowl, Lifepath Student Ministry hosts its annual DESSERT AUCTION to restock the Youth Fund, which is used to help students, families, the church, and the community. This do-not-miss evening together is for the entire church family and is the only major fundraiser for the youth group. Cactus Jack Barnes, a local radio personality, serves as our entertaining auctioneer. The bar is raised each year on the desserts and the dessert presentation. God always proves faithful in raising enough money (through many generous hearts) to support our growing student ministry.
